My favorite thing about being a compounder is our ability to make an impact on patients’ lives that would otherwise not have been possible through conventional therapies.

What advice would you give to those new to pharmacy compounding?

Evaluate your process often. Strive for consistency and excellence before cost. Never forget about your obligations to your patients and the pharmacy profession.

What is your most satisfying patient experience?

We once had a 180-pound, 12-year-old patient who was fighting his parents when it was time for him to take his medications. Using Lipoderm® to deliver the medications through his skin was life changing for his family. His parents told me, “You have helped bring our son back to us.”

What is one PCCA base you rely on regularly?

Lipoderm. It is extremely easy to work with, and its ability to deliver medications through the skin has proven it to be an invaluable asset to my patients.
